WELCA

What is WELCA?

WELCA stands for Women of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America.  The organization is part of the national ELCA church, with WELCA groups in all of the various congregations around the country.

What functions take place as a part of WELCA?

Any WELCA organization can develop a program especially meaningful to its local commitment, from Bible study and other education programs to fund-raising efforts and social affairs.  The women at Ascension have two Bible Study Circles that meet monthly using the Bible Studies in the WELCA magazine Gather.  In 2011, the circles are currently studying the Book of Mark.  The studies are led by women in the group.

How can I get involved with WELCA?
