In these difficult times, many families and individuals are turning to the Ascension Food Ministry for help to get through the month.  Unemployment continues to be high and under employment has increased.  BUT you can make a difference!  How? When?  Be part of the FOODDRIVEfor Ascension’s Food Ministry.  Bring needed food and non-food items to church on Sunday, October 16th or anytime during the week, or on Sunday, October 24th.  Cash contributions and checks marked in the memo line Food for Families will be matched up to $300 by Thrivent’s Care Abounds in Communities.    

 We also need volunteers to help Linda Estes who manages our food pantry.  If you can spare a few hours a couple times per month, please put your name and phone  number on a sheet of paper and mark it Food Ministry Volunteer and place it in the offering plate on Sunday. 

 Remember Checks for the Food Ministry should be marked Food for Families or Food Ministry in the memo line in order to be matched by Thrivent.  THANK YOU.

WE WILL THEN BREAK INTO LANGUAGE GROUPS TO DISCUSS HOW WE CAN PUT OUR OWN FAITH IN ACTION.

ACTIVITIES ARE ALSO PLANNED FOR CHILDREN.

WE WILL CLOSE WITH PRAYER AT 11:00AM.

Our band of Ascension Walkers will walk 2-5 miles for hunger next Sunday, October 9.  Food and funds raised will benefit our own food pantry and the community at large.  There are four ways you can help: Pick up a bag at the entry to the sanctuary and return it on October 9 filled with non perishable food. Sponsor a walker – they are wearing CROP WALK stickers and will gladly take a pledge. Bring any non perishable food to church on Sunday, October 9.  Join the walkers – it’s not too late to help.

Zumba is a fabulous and fun exercise.  Bring your whole family to work out with you.  We’re promoting family quality time and getting healthy at the same time.  Water and snacks will be provided.  For safety reasons, we recommend that children under 5 stay in the childcare program that we provide during the event. You can  email, text, or call Caitlin at 414-343-9486 to pre-register.  Please let me know how many adults and kids will joining and how many kids will be in childcare.  This helps us prepare ahead of time.  As the time gets closer, we will send out a reminder either through email or text.
